If I could give it 10 stars, I would. In the past few years we rented in 2 other properties, and I can honestly say that this place is very different in the best way, The community is brand new. Everything in it is light, bright, and airy. Amenities are superb, just to name a few distinct features, there is a cycling and yoga room, in addition to a gym that has brand new equipment. The yoga room has mats, a tv with programs that you can chose to exercise to. I don’t know about everyone, but I enjoy the fact that both the cycling room and the gym have views of the lake. From a neighbor’s perspective, you are better off having a great neighbor or thick walls, or both 🙂 We got lucky in every sense. The people who live here are wonderful, and there are opportunities to get to know your neighbors, if you want to, as the community hosts free events at least once a month. We have lived here for 2 weeks, and already attended wine night and beer tasting. If you chose to mingle with your neighbors, playing pool may not be a bad idea – and you can, as Portico has it. I think most people enjoy the quiet when they are at home, but unfortunately, not all constructions allow that. Portico has hurricane proved windows, and just recently we slept through the storm, without hearing a sound, and so did our pets – forgot to mention, this is a pet friendly community. I am aware that we have neighbors, but we cannot hear them as the construction is superb and maybe our 14 feet ceilings also have something to do with that 🙂 The interior of the apartments is sleek and modern, and color scheme is wonderful. Something is to be said about the management. They do go out of the way so you feel home, and all with tact and taste, not in your face kind of way. Our move-in process was a delight, and we felt like royalty. To start, when we got the key and came to open the door, the front door was decorated with a ribbon as if it were a gift 🙂 We also received a choice of freebies, and we chose a year of free grocery delivery. One night, just recently, we run out of drinking water at home and realized it too late, literally. No problem: there is a fountain by the gym in the hall. The overall feel of the place to us is urban, yet cozy. Our apartment sits on a beautiful lake, and having tea on the patio every weekend, watching the lake glisten is ideal. I did not want to put just general descriptions as we ourselves are fellow renters, so I think people should know the details that make this place different in the best possible way. We are kind of proud to call this community home, and feel blessed to have found Portico.
